Special Hobby 72237 P-35A Philippine Defender 1/72 Scale Model Kit

The Seversky P-35 is an American fighter plane with a metal low wing structure, with a covered cockpit and a classic tail. Serial production was carried out in the years 1937-1940. The prototype of the P-35 was a prototype marked as SEV-1XP with the 850HP Wright R-1820-65 Cyclone 9 engine, it already had a retractable landing gear, and, unlike the previous examples, it did not have a rear gunner position. In 1936, the plane went into production under the designation P-35 with the Pratt-Whitney R-1830-9 Twin Wasp engine. The P-35A version with a more powerful engine and more powerful on-board weapons was created relatively quickly. It was supposed to go to Sweden, but due to the arms embargo imposed by Congress on that country, the P-35A version was sent to the USSAC. Airplanes fought in the early stages of the war, especially in the Philippines.

Technical data (version P-35A): length: 8.17m, wingspan: 10.97m, height: 2.97m, maximum speed: 467km / h, rate of climb: 9.8m / s, maximum range: 1530km, ceiling practical: 9570m, armament: fixed - 2 machine guns caliber 12.7 mm and 2 machine guns caliber 7.62 mm, underslung - up to 159 kg of bombs.
