Tamiya 31613 US Navy Battleship Missouri 1/700 Scale Model Kit
This is Tamiya's 1/700 scale plastic model of the US Navy Battleship Missouri. The Missouri BB-63, the third Iowa-class battleship, was one of the last and largest battleships ever built by the US Navy. Participating in the Pacific War, she was deployed in support missions for the capture of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. She participated in the bombardment of Japan during WWII and later in the Korean War. She was a battle-tested warship that lasted almost fifty years, from 1944 to 1992. Like the other Iowa-class ships, she displaced 45,000 tons, generated an astonishing 212,000 hp, and was equipped with three 40.6 cm triple guns. Despite her large size, New Jersey was narrow enough to pass through the Panama Canal, with a hull that stretched over 270 m.
