Tamiya 31616 USS Iowa BB-61 Battleship 1/700 Scale Model Kit
This is Tamiya's 1/700 scale plastic model of the US Navy Battleship Iowa BB-61. The USN BB-61 Iowa, built in February 1943, served shortly in the Atlantic before leaving for the Pacific Theater in January 1944. Iowa assisted carrier-based airstrikes against Japanese-held islands, supporting and destroying shore and naval positions. It participated in the campaign for the Marianas and the Battle of Leyte Gulf, although she missed the chance for a showdown with the Japanese battleship Yamato. Iowa took part in the Okinawa invasion after assisting with the assault on the Philippines and aiding air strikes on Kyushu.
